I felt I had to put pen to paper. We have had the misfortune of losing our beloved pony “Jaffa” after a short illness. He was a huge part of our family and taught my two sons Daniel and William to ride properly. He participated in many PC activities, camps, shows, teaching children to ride, RDA and always being there to save the day if any child wanted a safe genuine pony to ride.
As many horse owners will know, nursing a sick horse or pony and especially saying goodbye is a traumatic experience. So, we would truly like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to our wonderful vet, Michelle Lawrence of Peasebrook Equine Clinic. I feel that not enough recognition is given to some of these wonderful people.
Michelle always treated Jaffa with extreme kindness and patience. Mixed with her expertise she always thought outside the box, and constantly went that extra mile. Nothing was ever too much trouble, even if she had been on call all night. In Jaffa’s last moments Michelle treated him with the utmost care and dignity and that is something we will never forget.
I know Michelle is moving practices; I just hope that whichever practice she goes to, realise they have a vet in a million as part of their team.
