Amerigo DJ Jumping Saddle

Posted on Friday, April 5, 2019 by Sasha Melia

Leading saddlery brand Amerigo, has designed the DJ jumping saddle for a horse with a straight, short back.

From the wooden tree collection, the DJ has been specially created for horses with straight backs, it is also good for short back horses and bigger warmbloods. The saddle is made out of soft, supple Pinerolo calfskin leather.

Anatomically shaped with Danloux French style thigh rolls, the saddle has independent, non-gusseted panels which are made up of two individual parts, which are not attached to one another.

As there are no gussets, and the panels are not stitched onto the saddle, they contour perfectly to the shape of the horse as the form is not restricted by the use of gussets or stitching.

The stuffing material used inside the panels is a mix of synthetic fibres and unlike wool, this mixture does not concentrate into lumps, so there is no pressure on the horse, and the shape is kept more consistent throughout.

An independent, stuffed panel system becomes better with use and there is no need to have the saddles re-flocked as a matter of routine. The panels can be altered along their complete length to ensure continuing good fit should the horse change in shape.

As with all Amerigo saddles, the DJ is individually handcrafted  in Italy using the finest French and Italian hides. The specially selected leather combined with the meticulous and qualified handcrafting, ensures that every Amerigo saddle becomes a true “Made in Italy” masterpiece.

The Amerigo DJ is available in Black, New Market, Red Brown and Brown, and priced at around £3,900.
