BE Eventing Roundup: Bramham International Horse Trials

Wiltshire riders were out in force to gain success in the Bishop Burton CCI*** U25s section.

Tom McEwen and Diesel won, after lying in 2nd position on his dressage score of 43.6 and having one pole down with no time faults. Dani Evans and Raphael II were in a promising position, leading the section on a dressage score of 40.4 and were therefore last to show jump.  However, a fence down and 4 time faults put them just below Tom’s score.

Competing before her horrific fall at Twesledown, Laura Collett and Allora3 were 4th in the same section, also having one down in the show jumping.

Georgie Spence and WII Limbo were 5th in the section.

Only two riders were clear show jumping out of 16 finishers after the cross country.  Ian Stark’s course was described as ‘tough’, and the track resulted in seven eliminations in the cross country, with 1 retired and two withdrawn.

Bradenstone based Leonne George and her Thoroughbred gelding Whippy won the first class of the day, the Walk and Trot Championship.    “Whippy came from an abusive background but he is a sweet horse who I love and hope to bring on for eventing” says his owner.  Leanne’s main interest is British Show Jumping, but she’s been enjoying dressage this summer too.

The Prelim 13 Championship was won by Little Miss Attitude, a 17.2hh TB x ID mare ridden by Jacqui Taylor-Collins.  The pair enjoy BE events and at time of writing were aiming for the Milton Keynes Three Day Event.

Sophie Andrews and her Irish mare, Playtime II won the Novice 39.  An Avonvale PC member, Sophie enjoys eventing and has represented Stonar School as well as her club.

Top of the leader board in the Elementary 53 was Zoredia, ridden by Jessica Yeung.  The  warmblood mare is an ex-driving horse.
