Ladies Day is a yearly event held at Dallas Burston Polo Club that aims to encourage the attendance of female fans of Polo. This year’s proceedings saw a record breaking 600+ attendees enjoying the festivities and over £14,000 raised for The UK Sepsis Trust and The Prince’s Trust.
A proud tradition on the equestrian calendar, Ladies Day events continue to grow in popularity across the UK, especially at establishments like Dallas Burston Polo Club where membership is offered but not essential; everyone is welcome and many events taking place over the course of the season are offered free for the public to attend. This year’s Ladies Day saw 6 games of excellent polo contested, live entertainment across the 600-acre sites first class facilities and a celebratory after-party.
The new Cloud Pavilion, built as part of a decade long £122m expansion plan, welcomed members of the public for the first time on the day and featured a performance from Roy Hemmings of ‘The Drifters’ fame. Guests received gift-bags, donated by Love Leamington, with treats from Davenports, Seeds of Italy, CoverFX, Clements & Church and Schweppes.
The charity raffle, which raised the incredible amount of over £14,000, offered some incredible prizes to guests including private tours of Highgrove Gardens, Selfridges shopping sprees, stays at the 5* luxury hotel The Lygon Arms and hospitality packages to see the likes of Paul Young and Justin Timberlake live in concert.
Major Richard Carney MBE says everybody at Dallas Burston Polo Club looks forward to hosting Ladies Day each year, “This event continues to evolve and grow in popularity and scale” he said, “We are always delighted to hold Ladies Day and would like to say a massive thank you to all the guests who attended and helped raise over £14,000 for the Sepsis Trust and the Prince’s Trust. A big thank you also to the sponsors, associates and charities for their continued involvement with the Club.”
Undoubtedly one of the most glamourous days of the Polo season, Ladies Day regularly attracts celebrity attention and attendance. This year was no different with visitors including author and influencer Sharon Lowe, Winner of BBC One’s ‘The Apprentice’ James White, Live24Seven Owner Katie McPhilimey, DIY SOS host Nick Knowles and founder of the Intelligent Strategic Partnership and Group Chief Operating Officer of SME International, Ajay Mahan.
Ladies Day is just one of the unique events taking place over the course of the polo season for the public to enjoy. New attractions in recent times at Dallas Burston Polo Club have included camel polo, fun-fairs and university polo tournaments. Picnicking around the pitches can be as affordable or luxurious as a visitor desires, with many attendees visiting the grounds simply to enjoy the stunning setting and first-class facilities on offer.
The multiple award-winning Dallas Burston Polo Club, Pride of Stratford Business of the Year 2018, features Europe’s largest all-weather SuperArena® for equestrian events, six polo grounds, a colonial Clubhouse, wedding venues, the IXL Events Centre and The Millstone Hare – a £2.4m Olde English styled pub with state-of-the-art facilities and incredible views over the grounds.
