Equestrian customers’ chance to reward great service

Posted on Thursday, October 4, 2018 by Sasha Melia

The search is on to find the winners of the 2019 BETA Business Awards – people and companies who have gone that extra mile to support the equestrian industry. There are 11 awards and consumers have the chance to nominate winners in four of the 10 categories – SEIB Retailer of the Year, STUBBS ENGLAND Nutritional Helpline of the Year, The Equestrian Event of the Year supported by Henson Franklyn and the TSM Social Media Award.

SEIB Retailer of the Year

Customers of equestrian shops – bricks-and-mortar and online – are invited to nominate retailers they feel offer an excellent service for the SEIB Retailer of the Year title. For doing so, they are automatically entered into a prize draw to win a Collegiate leather bridle if their nominee makes it through to the shortlist.

“SEIB is proud to have supported this award from the start,” said Nicolina Mackenzie, the company’s marketing manager. “We have watched the number of entries grow over the years and, as this award is voted for by customers, it is a true reflection of the level of service that retailers offer. We are delighted to be able to put something back into the trade and helps celebrate excellence.”

Retailers can be put forward for the award by completing a nomination form in-store or making an online nomination at retaileroftheyear.org.uk. The deadline for submissions is 26 November 2018.

STUBBS ENGLAND Nutritional Helpline of the Year

Feed company helplines are a great source of expert dietary advice. Consumers who have been on the receiving end of this and benefited from feeding information and outstanding customer service can nominate a company for the STUBBS ENGLAND Nutritional Helpline of the Year title.

“As a company that produces a wide range of essential equine equipment – including the famous STUBBS ENGLAND feed scoop, range of mangers and hay feeders – we are extremely pleased to take up the sponsorship of this award,” said STUBBS ENGLAND managing director Chris Bradwell. “By doing so, we are reinforcing the important role that nutritional helplines play in helping owners to give their equines the best diet possible.”

Nomination forms can be found online at stubbsengland.com and the deadline for submissions is 30 November.

Equestrian Event of the Year supported by Henson Franklyn.

Visitors who attend the country’s many horsey events are invited to nominate their favourite one for the Equestrian Event of the Year title. Tim Henson, of Henson Franklyn, said: “Having been involved in the equestrian event industry for 30 years, it seems only right that we play our part in helping BETA award a prize to the best event of the year. Henson Franklyn works at many of these and we feel that this sponsorship is our chance to say thank you to them.”

Nominations should be made by 30 November, with forms available on the Awards page at beta-uk.org.

TSM Social Media Award

This award, sponsored by PR and marketing company TSM, recognises and rewards businesses that have successfully embraced social media and used it to powerful effect in their marketing strategy.

“We are delighted to support the award once again,” said TSM’s Tim Smith. “It is important for all businesses and brands to move with the times and use the many promotional platforms available today to increase awareness and sales. We look forward to seeing the nominations and the fantastic work in the marketplace.”

Nominations should be made by 5 December, with forms found on the Awards page at beta-uk.org.

BETA executive director Claire Williams added: “The BETA Business Awards continue to be highly regarded throughout the equestrian world and it is only right that some of the entries should be open to consumer nomination. Nominating a company or an individual is a tremendous way for people to give something back to the trade and show their thanks and support.”

The awards’ other categories are BETA Sponsored Rider of the Year, Trade Supplier of the Year, Ceris Burns Equestrian Export Award, Equine Careers Sales Representative of the Year, Weatherbeeta Group Retail Employee of the Year and BETA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Winners of the BETA Business Awards will be announced during the BETA Gala Dinner, at the National Motorcycle Museum, near Birmingham, on Monday 21 January 2019.
