A very special charity dressage show in support of Guide Dogs UK will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 27th May at Swallowfield Equestrian Centre. The day was inspired by Laura, a visually impaired dressage rider and regular competitor at the centre. Some visitors to the Lapworth establishment may already have had the pleasure in meeting Laura’s own guide dog, Hester.
It takes somewhere in the region of £50,000 to select, care for and fully train each and every guide dog, without which life would be very difficult, if not impossible, for many visually impaired children and adults – just to do what many of us take for granted.50% of all entry fees will be donated by Swallowfield to Guide Dogs. In addition, all £1’s taken on the day for ‘reading’ will go to Guide Dogs – so everyone has been asked not to learn their tests so they can take advantage of this service.
Simon Coates Event Photography based in Rugby will donate 25% to Guide Dogs on any orders placed.
Laura has rustled up some FANTASTIC raffle prizes, including Premier tickets for 2 at Uttoxeter Races, a Neue Schule bit voucher, £15 Spillers feed voucher, an Equine McTimoney treatment voucher, a mystery prize from Townfield Saddlers, a brilliant Hatton Country World family pass, a 1 bag of Pure Feed horse feed, 5 bags of Pure Feed horse treats, 3 Derby House head-collars.
AND, as a bonus you can get licked to death by visiting guide dogs!
Awards for highest scoring Junior and Senior riders of the day will be donated by Laura Turner: Intro A – Rosettes sponsored by Manor Rosettes, Intro B – Rosettes sponsored by Gallop Mobile Equestrian Ltd, Prelim 7 – Rosettes Sponsored by Horsequest, Novice 27 – (please contact Swallowfield if you would like to sponsor), Elem 44 – (please contact Swallowfield if you would like to sponsor)
