Lifeforce helps Minnie to Winning Form

Posted on Friday, September 1, 2017 by Sarah Wild

Sixteen-year-old Amy Charlton and her KWPN mare Minnie have formed a winning partnership, but life hasn’t always been so easy for the talented mare.

By Amy’s own admission, Minnie has a natural will to work, however she can be quite sensitive and is easily stressed, not a great combination for a competition horse.

In the two years that Minnie has been a part of the Charlton family her anxiety has meant she can present with classic signs of digestive discomfort, such as irritability which has in the past affected her performance. Minnie (15), especially struggled with changes to her routine, including going to events.

Minnie lives at home with Amy and her family, and competes in showjumping, dressage and eventing. Amy’s Mum, Sally has previously worked in the animal feed industry for 20 years specialising in vitamin and mineral nutrition, and is now a registered McTimoney Animal Practitioner working with horses and dogs.

With Sally’s experience in nutrition she was acutely aware of the connection between stress and the health of a horse’s digestive system, so she decided to try Minnie on Lifeforce Formula, the supplement from Alltech.

Both Sally and Amy were delighted with the results: “Since feeding Lifeforce we have noticed a big difference in Minnie’s digestion which in turn has meant that not only her attitude at home and events has changed but her performance when competing.”

2017 has been a winning year for Amy and Minnie, now her digestive issues have been helped with the Lifeforce Formula. At the beginning of the year the pair competed at the Pony Club Dengie Championships in the Intermediate Dressage.

Their most recent achievement was winning the Pony Club Intermediate Area Showjumping to gain their ticket to the National Championships, held at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire.

This was Amy and Minnie’s first experience of jumping competitively over a 1.10m course, and although they were not in the ribbons after sadly rolling a couple of poles, they were incredibly proud of their performance and the way that Minnie jumped and handled the electric atmosphere at a big competition.

Back in the dressage arena the pair will head to the NSEA National Championships in October after qualifying in the Novice and Elementary sections.

“I would definitely recommend Lifeforce to anyone with a horse that can be easily stressed which then has a knock on effect on their digestive health,” added Sally.

Lifeforce Formula from Alltech is specially designed horses in moderate activity and breeding horses by supporting their immune function.

Additionally the supplement helps support the reproductive system of mares and stallions, while supporting fermentation of feeds and forages in the caecum, enabling your horse to extract the maximum nutrients from all feed sources.

A 5kg tub of Lifeforce Formula retails at £90, for a three month supply.
