New Opportunity for 16-18 years olds to pursue a Sport and Education Study Programme with Equine Option

Posted on Thursday, December 13, 2018 by Sasha Melia

On the 12th January 2019, any students interested in Higher Education or a future in the sports industry are invited to an open morning at Rein and Shine Equestrian Centre to find out about a new and exciting career opportunity.

The new course, for 16-18-year-olds, is a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence with additional Equine) and will be commencing in September 2019. It is worth 3 A Levels and is a new addition to the Virtual Learning UK (VLUK) range of BTEC options. In partnership with Rein and Shine, VLUK offers an alternative education and career path for students that might prefer a way of studying outside the school environment.

The BTEC course will be based at Rein and Shine’s countryside facility in Braydon, near Swindon and will focus on sports performance and excellence with the addition of some equine practical each week. The good news is, no previous experience with horses is necessary and students will frequently leave the classroom to engage in practical activities in a professional environment.

As the BTEC Level 3 Diploma qualification is worth three A levels, students can go on to follow many different career paths in sport, whether they choose to go out to work or continue to university. The educational pathway with VLUK is well supported and ready to help students in whichever direction they choose.

To find out more, pupils and their parents are encouraged to attend the open morning at Rein & Shine on the 12th January. There will be a presentation from VLUK from 9am until 1pm about the new course, plus a chance to see the facilities and ask any questions over light refreshments.

For more details at this stage, please call Rein and Shine on 01666 860068 or email [email protected].
