Winner of our July In the Ribbons column is Tanisha Mayo, aged 15, pictured on her Appaloosa X Welsh 14hh gelding Mr Bubbles at the South West Dressage Championships at Hartpury. “We got a 4th, 7th and 11th in the Prelim and Novice with percentages all over 70%!” says Tanisha, adding “it was a very tough competition but he got 77% in the novice which gained us 1st and qualification. He was one of the only ponies there!”
Another local rider in the ribbons recently was Melanie Widdows who travelled to Addington Equestrian Centre on 31st May 2014 to take part in the Eventer’s Challenge. Melanie’s superb little mare, Regent’s Bounty, who is now 24 years old, took the first class (75cms) with a fantastic round. “To still be winning regularly at this age is a great achievement and we hope you’ll feel ‘Hattie’ deserves a mention” says Melanie’s good friend Anne Coombs.
All the riders submitted a photos for our online feature which will be published each month on our website and e-newsletter.
Have you been ‘In the Ribbons’ recently?
To celebrate your success by getting your photo featured, simply send a photo of yourself and your horse at a current season show or event (any type), holding or wearing your 1st place rosette, along with show name, date, and name of horse and rider. It’s simplest to get a friend or relative to take a snap of you at the event, but make sure the picture quality is clear and the filesize is at least 1MB to ensure publication quality. Professional photographs MUST include the photographer’s permission in writing for it to be used online for this purpose.
You could win a prize from www.tottie.co.uk or www.harryhall.co.uk. There will be a monthly prize draw from those submitting ‘In the Ribbons’ entries, and the winner of the prize draw will be featured in the next issue of CHN’s printed magazine too!
So, get sending your photos to [email protected] with ‘In the Ribbons’ in the subject line!
