The pair were also 2nd in the lead rein class at the same show. Gavina and Lara have had a good season, winning the lead rein at B.S.P.S area 7 and a Reserve championships at Cullinghood with further success at Hall Place, Abingdon, Swallowfield and others. Gavina is only 6 years old and has been riding Lara since she was two and a half. She was thrilled to receive the 5th highest ride mark this year in her first HOYS qualifier.

Gavina will receive a prize from this month’s sponsors, Harry Hall and Tottie Clothing. She is just one of the riders who submitted a photo for our online feature – other riders in the ribbons are featured below and in our printed magazine.

” This is Hot Toddie – just turned 4″, writes Angela Green from Warwickshire. ” I’ve had Tod since last October and have been backing him but at the same time getting him out and about . We did a coloured in hand class at Rugby Riding club in May and came first. He has been an absolute star with everything that’s been thrown (not literally) in his direction!”

Annabel Drake

” My name is Annabel Drake and I am 9 years. I have been in the ribbons with my lead rein Dartmoor pony three weekends on the trot! Hisley Carnival (aka Rambo) and I won the Hoys M&M lead rein class at north of England; then we were Supreme Ridden at the Dartmoor Show at Moulton Collage finishing with Supreme Mini Champion Pretty Polly at the Royal International Horse Show in August. My pony always gives his best in the ring and loves to wear a sash!”

Hannah Law

Hannah Law.jpg Fifteen year old Hannah Law and her 14.2hh mare Lady of the Dance (aka Tabby) have been having a great 2014 season, including winning all their classes at Hill View Arena on 26th October and top placings in four classes including their first 3ft competition at Gracelands on 8th November. This picture was taken at Allens Hill in the summer, and Hannah is very proud of Tabby, who is 19 years young.
