A number of The Showing Register Pathway Riders excelled at the TSR Spring Show on May 6th. Fiona Wilson, Holly Crowe and Melanie Pritchard who have all been selected for the TSR Pathway this year showed that training and lots of hard work pays off, with all of them notching up wins. To further prove training is the key to success judges David Ingle and Mathew Ainsworth were kept very busy in the training classes and talent spotted several riders for the TSR Master Class Pathway short list.
Onley EC was a brilliant venue, the show was a buzz of activity with good entries across all the various classes. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and best of all the sun shone all day!
Victoria Burton from Worcestershire won the Novice Small M&M class with the grey stallion Baledon Sea Swallow. The Welsh Section A is on loan and this was his third ever ridden show since being backed so it was a great result for Victoria. Victoria attended HOYS last year in the TSR Master Class.
Seven year old Ella Georgakis was third in the M&M Novice Lead Rein class riding Tamevalley Rhianna. Ella also travelled down from Worcester to compete at the show.
In the horse classes Jonathan Fryer won the Hunter class and then went on to be ridden horse champion with Ducal Royal Emblem. Jonathan had only owned his horse for one week before the show so this was a wonderful result.
Some riders had travelled many miles to contest the HOYS M&M Ridden classes. Competitors travelled from as far as Pembrokeshire, Southampton, Lancashire and even Scotland! The M&M Ridden Champion went to Llanidan Linesman ridden by Katy Marriott who went on to take Supreme of Show. Reserve Supreme was Megan Thompson on Leacon High Cockalorum who was Mini Champion.
Show Organiser Sarah Chapman said “We were thrilled with the day and would like to thank everyone who came for making the show such a success!”
