Leading voices in equine science to gather in Birmingham for BSAS Equine Conference 2025
The British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) has announced details of its flagship Equine Conference, taking place on 21–22 November 2025 at the MacDonald Burlington Hotel Birmingham.
Bringing together researchers, veterinarians, nutritionists, trainers, riders and industry leaders, the two-day event will showcase the latest cutting-edge equine science and practical innovation shaping the future of horse health, welfare, and performance.
Day 1 will focus on the newest developments in equine science, covering nutrition, welfare, genetics, and performance.
Day 2 will be specifically geared towards horse owners, riders, and para-professionals – from coaches and farriers to nutritionists and therapists – giving them direct access to evidence-based advice and take-home strategies for providing the very best care for their horses.
Key themes for 2025 include:
- Equine nutrition and and feeding – meeting the challenges of feeding horses in a changing environment
- Advances in sports science and training –redefining equine performance
- Welfare and ethics in modern equestrianism – new insights into behaviour, wellbeing, and responsible horsemanship.
- Equine genetics and breeding innovation – exploring the opportunities and challenges of next-generation breeding science.
The conference will feature leading keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and panel debates tackling some of the most pressing issues in the equestrian world.
