FROM eventing legends to Britain’s rising stars, all are set to line up for the exciting Cazenove Capital Eventing Grand Prix at the Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show.

This fast and furious competition will provide a high calibre invitational spectacle as both elite show jumpers and event riders tackle a course of show jumps and feature cross-country fences in a relay format.

Event riders taking part include triple Olympic Gold Medallist, Andrew Hoy for Australia; as well as 2016 Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials winner, and fellow Australian Christopher Burton.

They will be joined by Cheshire-based Brazilian and Rio Olympian, Carlos Parro and Chinese Olympian, Alex Hua Tian, who won a Silver Medal for China at the 2014 Asian Games.

British rising talent, Sam Ecroyd also heads to the Bolesworth Estate and is joined by Dutch team stalwart Andrew Heffernan.

Event riders will tackle the cross-country course developed with the help of well known rider and eventing consultant, Gary Parsonage.

Show jumpers joining in this fast action-paced competition include speed specialist Harriet Nuttall, local rider Keith Shore, second in last year’s Equerry Grand Prix and the hugely popular and fun-loving Jay Halim.

Starting in the International Arena as the feature class on the evening of Thursday, June 14, the Eventing Grand Prix will see Eventers and Show Jumpers pair up, to then compete against the clock, racing over approximately 30 jumps and cross-country style obstacles.

Each pair will take on a combination of fences, including a brand new set of cross- country fences incorporating the Bolesworth International arena’s iconic moat.

The Cazenove Capital prize will go to the pair with the fastest combined time and the least faults. Each knocked down fence will incur seconds added on to the rider’s time with the lucky winners will each take home a £1,000 first prize.

Don’t forget party nights in Club Boles with Friday, June 15 hosting an Ibiza Classic evening full of iconic Ibiza anthems.

While Saturday evening, June 16 will see Rick Parfitt Jnr and the RPJ Band set to entertain with a live line-up of rock tunes throughout the evening.

The five day event takes place from June 12 to 17 in the glorious grounds of Bolesworth Castle near Tattenhall, Chester and is set to provide a feast of sport and entertainment with some fantastic dressage stars heading to the stunning venue.

British Riding Clubs Fibre-Beet Festival of the Horse Championships 2018

Posted on Thursday, May 24, 2018 by Sasha Melia

The BRC Fibre-Beet Festival of the Horse Championships 2018 took place over the weekend 19-20May 2018 at Aston-le-Walls Equestrian Centre in Northamptonshire.

Fibre-Beet is a new sponsor for this event and HattiI’Ansonfrom British Horse Feeds (producers of Fibre-Beet)was on hand each day, offering advice and information on their range of horse feeds and supplements, and to present the wonderful prizes, rosettes and sashes to all the winners.

HattiI’Anson of British Horse Feeds said: “We were delighted to support the Fibre-Beet Festival of the Horse Championships. It was a fantastic weekend with top competition, horses that looked fit and well and competitors that were having great fun and wanting to learn more about Fibre-Beet and Speedi-Beet.”

Over 600 competitors, both senior and junior, teams and individuals, travelled the length and breadth of the UK to take part in a range of championship classes, which included the Festival Challenges at 100, 90 and 80cms and Combined Training, featuring both a dressage test (from prelim to novice level) and a show jumping round (75cms to 85cms).

Aston-le-Walls was bathed in glorious sunshine all weekend, spectators and competitors alike were treated to some truly exciting Challenge championship rounds. With the riders tackling first a bright, imaginative and twisty course of show jumps, leading directly out onto the testing, cross-country course, where double clear rounds inside the time proved hard to gain. The winning teams and individuals came from across the whole of the UK. However two separate junior teams from Area 14 (Eastern Counties) lifted both the Challenge 100 and Challenge 90 Championship classes, Oliver Kidner riding first Freddy in the Challenge 100, then French Fort Daisy in the Challenge 90, featured strongly in both teams.

Said Oliver: “Both ponies were fast today, I can’t believe that both our Area 14 teams have won!”

A senior team from Area 2, in the North East, posted a win in the Senior Challenge 100, finishing on a great combined score of just 6.4 penalty points; the team included three members from Darlington & District RC, who were also on last year’s winning team.

“This has been an amazing weekend, to be on the winning team for a second year running and to finish with just 0.8 penalties, I’m thrilled with my horse Double You Aramis.” Said Jill Horseman.

The Combined Training Championships again saw large numbers of competitors who first rode their dressage test, followed later by a flowing round of show jumps, with both results combined to produce the final score. A team from Cornwall TREC Group in Area 19lifted the senior title, with a team score of 10.Atherstone& District RC in Area 5 won the junior Championship on a team score of 11 points.

Said Rachael Hollely-Thompson, BRC Manager:“Awonderful weekend, with some exciting Challenge rounds to watch, contrasted by the tranquility of the dressage and show jumping arenas. Aston-le-Walls Equestrian Centre provides the ideal venue to host this type event made even better this year by the fabulous weather. A huge thank youto over 200 volunteers who gave up their time to enable us to run such a special event.”

“We had a lovely time fence judging at Aston-le-Walls today. BRC always look after us so well and you are such a friendly bunch. The weather played its part and we were impressed that so many riders were offering their mounts lots of love and pats on the way round. All in all it was a rather idyllic way to spend a Sunday!” Said BRC Volunteers Lesley & Martin Reeves.
