Bicester Riding Club members were celebrating after their first big win for the club by becoming the overall winners of The British Riding Clubs Area 6 Liaison Trophy Competition which was held at Berkshire College of Agriculture on 6th April 2014.
The competition consists of four phases including dressage, show jumping, cross country and a trail ride. Each of the team members takes part in two of the phases. This competition is intended as a confidence building event in which Clubs in Area 6 may enter teams in each of the four phases.
The team included; Jenny Fenton, Louise Bull, Jackie Card, Alex Barter, Lauren Harrold, Jane Bird, Anna-Marie O’Hanlon, Michele Gregory, and Sarah Pettit who stepped in at the last minute to replace one of the team members who’s horse was badly affected by the surface’s sand particles.
Team Manager & Chairman, Emma Richardson-Steele said ‘This was a genuine novice team, an amazing result and our first big win for Bicester Riding Club’.
Bicester Riding Club was started just four years ago and has gone from strength to strength and now has a membership base of over 150. They ran a team last year at the prestigeous Blenheim Horse Trials Riding Club Challenge and hope to enter a team again this year.
