Arabian Performance Horse Winners Parade in Newmarket on Saturday 28th April

As part of this year’s Arab Horse Society’s Centenary celebrations,  AHS members with winners in all ridden disciplines will take part in a parade of Arabian Performance Horses on Saturday 28 April. It starts at 2.30pm in the O’Sullevan Arena at the Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) Yard, part of the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing at Palace House in Newmarket.

This once-in-a-century event is generously sponsored by AHS Patron, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum. One of his race winners from Shadwell will lead the parade of pure-bred and part-bred show jumpers, eventers (including Tomatillo, the clone of Badminton winner Tamarillo), endurance horses, dressage winners, Premium Performance stallions, World Arabian Horse trophy winners, and Horse of the Year Show Ridden Champions.

Anne Brown, co-ordinator of the Centenary Events programme commented: “The AHS is very grateful to Sue Molloy and the RoR team for allowing horses with Arabian blood to invade the sacred bastion of the English Thoroughbred. But then, the Arabian is at the heart of every racehorse pedigree!”

Admission to the Parade at Palace House also includes entry to the fantastic National Heritage Centre where you can see the special Arabian horse exhibition: “From the Desert to the World” (open until 13 July), plus all the other galleries.

The accompanying Arab Horse Society “Centenary” book is on sale at the Palace House shop.
