Eventing Roundup 2014: The Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe, August 2014

The Festival of British Evening at Gatcombe this year saw the much needed rain arrive in bucket loads on the Saturday, when the Equex China Advanced and the Martin Collins British Novice Championships sections ran.  Local girl Aoife Clark won the Adanced on Fenyas Elegance with William Fox-Pitt and the stunning Top Biats winning the Novice Championships.  The sun shone on Sunday for the Smith & Williamson British Intermediate Championships which were again won by William Fox-Pitt.  The British Eventing Open Championships CIC*** was won by local Andrew Nicholson with Rosemary and Mark Barlow’s Avebury, twice winner of Burghley and thrice winner of Barbury International.
